NABC’s traditional Pizzeria & Public House location (3312 Plaza Drive in New Albany) provides our venue for kicking off Louisville Craft Beer Week on Friday, September 12, with a dual Flat12 Bierwerks/New Albanian Brewing Company tap takeover.
(Actually, given that NABC always has 15 of its own beers on tap, let’s concede that it’s Flat12 doing most of the taking over).
Why all the fuss?
It’s because Flat12 Bierwerks’s new brewing operation on the Jeffersonville waterfront will be open very soon, and NABC would like to be the very first to extend a laurel and hearty welcome to our brothers in beer from the Circle City. NABC is delighted to welcome reinforcements after 12 years in the trenches of battling culture-shock-as-usual on the northern bank of the Ohio.
But seriously: Flat12 has been a valued and vibrant addition to the Indianapolis brewing scene these past four years, and NABC has enjoyed many good times in the past with Flat12’s cast and crew. In addition, Flat12’s Rob Caputo and NABC’s Roger A. Baylor both serve as directors on the Brewers of Indiana Guild. Rob is tsar of the festival committee, and Roger recently was appointed to be his co-chair. The implications are staggering, indeed.
Flat12 and NABC are among 90 brewing companies currently operating in Indiana, with more on the way, and we’re excited to showcase two of the very best Hoosier brewers at the Pizzeria & Public House as part of the Louisville Craft Beer Week’s slate of events in 2014.
Here is the Flat12 draft list for the occasion:
Spirit Mover Saison
Kattenstoet Belgian Pale
Nitro Barrel Aged Pinko
Weet Heavy Scotch Ale
Full 90 Pale Ale
Flat Jack Pumpkin Ale
Very Owd Gordo BA Old Ale
Perpetual Slumber Belgian Dark Strong
