NABC’S 7th Annual Fringe Fest at Bank Street Brewhouse is Oct 9 – 12

Harvest culture’s still on the skids, and NABC aims to keep it that way with its 7th annual Fringe Fest, providentially timed to coincide with that other downtown festival on October 9, 10, 11 and 12, 2014 … that’s Thursday through Sunday, open at 12 Noon each day.

Appropriately, Fringe Fest remains NABC’s alternative perspective on the general theme of “harvest homecoming,” and features NABC craft beer, musical performances, art, food, brewery tours and a general commitment to frivolity.

As in years past, a percentage of the proceeds from this year’s Fringe Fest will be donated to Open Door Youth Services and Rauch Inc.

Hope for good weather, and stop by while you’re downtown during New Albany’s periodically splendiferous Harvest Homecoming. Following are capsule previews of what to expect at Fringe Fest, which may be subject to revision as arrangements are finalized.

There’s no cover charge, but have your IDs ready if you’re planning on a beer.

Thursday, October 9

6:30 p.m. Ragged But Right
8:00 p.m. Fauna

Friday, October 10

6:00 p.m. Thunder Wrane

7:30 p.m. Brother Wolves

9:00 p.m. The Agartha Network

Saturday, October 11

7:00 p.m. Shawn Sleeps Naked

8:00 p.m. Raqia Belly Dancers

9:30 p.m. Dream Eye Color Wheel

For the occasion of Fringe Fest, we’ll be emphasizing the following selections:

Strassen Bräu … Genuine Bavarian yeast gives our annual autumnal Märzen/Oktoberfest lager its smooth, classic character.

Wet Knobs Harvest Hop Ale … American Pale Ale brewed with “wet” (unprocessed) locally grown Floyds Knobs hops. For the first time in 2014, we’re using our own Lloyd’s Landing Estate Grown hops, too. It’s a small batch, and it usually doesn’t survive Fringe Fest.

Phoenix Kentucky Komon … Old-time Louisville brewers were known to purloin sour (corn) mash from neighboring distilleries, using it as adjunct in batches of everyday ale. NABC’s paean to our creative “forebrewers” comes out sour, because we like it that way.

Of course, many other NABC favorites will remain on tap during Fringe Fest.

Come and see what we do and how we do it.
