NABC Calendar Highlights for April and May, 2014

APRIL (ongoing)
Gravity Head 2014: Bullet Train to Blackout Town
At the Pizzeria & Public House only, through the first week of April
The 16th annual Gravity Head is NABC’s celebration of the brewing world’s biggest and best.  Beginning on February 28, and lasting daily throughout March until all the kegs are gone, we’ll be devoting numerous taps to showcasing these rare and sought-after beers, as chosen to exhibit maximum diversity of flavors and stylistic inspiration.

APRIL 6 & 7
Session Head 2014
At Bank Street Brewhouse (6th) and the Pizzeria & Public House (7th)

As Gravity Head draws down, Session Head appears to remind us that at the other end of the alcohol spectrum, flavorful low-gravity ales and lagers are not to be ignored. NABC selections are slated to include Community Dark, Tafel, Houndmouth, Beak’s Best and our collaboration with Bloomington Brewing Company, FeastMaster, an 80 Shilling Scotch Ale. There will be beers from other area breweries (Pizzeria & Public House only for guest drafts).

We’ll be on the road quite often as the warm weather event season ramps up. Brewers and sales staff will be present at most of these dates, so if you’re attending, come by, say hi and sample.

April 9
Taste of Derby Festival 2014, at Louisville Slugger Field, benefiting the Dare to Care Food Bank. Beers TBA.

May 25
The Boomtown Ball & Festival is an all-day music, beer, food and flea market on Sunday, May 25, culminating in a show by New Albany’s own Houndmouth at The Grand. It takes place in downtown New Albany, and will be preceded by a week of revelry at various independent food and drink outlets in downtown. Plans for this first-time event are still coming together, so mark the calendar and be prepared for it.
